Bowie Knife
"There are so many enshrouding legends about this knife, that
you almost have to take a Bowie Knife to cut through the mythology
to find the real article." Harold Woods

Sometimes called an "Arkansas Toothpick"
the Bowie was said to have had to be sharp enough to use as a razor,
heavy enough to use as a hatchet, long enough to use as a sword
and broad enough to use as a paddle.
There is nothing more realistic than 15-23 inches of bright glimmering
steel in the form of a Bowie Knife (double-edged, top & bottom,
and sharpened along the length of the curve from the point) made
by Woody. Breath taking, awesome, sobering, full of reverence are
some of the terms that new owners have used to describe their custom
made Bowie by Woody.
Presentation Bowie knives have found their way to hallowed corridors
all over the world, each with its own character designed by the
owner or benefactor.
Each Presentation Knife starts with high carbon 440-C Stainless
steel. This handmade knife is made without the benefit of jigs and
fixtures. All operations and parts have been individually crafted
(instead of being machine stamped or cut) and for the most part
guided through the various shaping, grinding and polishing stages
held firmly in the skilled hands of this craftsman.
Finally this work of art is graced with a hilt and butt that is
fashioned of brass, nickel or your choice of any metal. The handle
is added last and can be made of a wide range of materials from
antler to exotic woods such as ebony. Inlays are available and/orbrass
rivets. Finally this Woods Blade is sharpened and honed to a razor
's edge and polished to mirror like finish. Engraving a personal
message, dedication, or the new owner's name enamors this heirloom
with the pride, by Harold Woods.
